How to grow orchid flowers

How to grow orchid flowers

1. Soil

When breeding, you need to use soil that is well-drained, loose and breathable. You can mix garden soil and peat soil together, and then add a small amount of bark blocks to increase drainage.

2. Watering

Water thoroughly once you have just potted it so that the soil and roots at the bottom can absorb enough water. After that, it is usually watered once every two or three days. In summer, the amount of water should be increased appropriately, and the leaves should be sprayed with water every day. In winter, you need to control the water, once a week is enough.

3. Lighting

When caring for it, just place it in a place with scattered light. It is best not to expose it to direct light, especially in summer, as strong light will burn the leaves. However, if it is often placed in a dark place, it will affect its growth, causing the leaves to turn yellow and wilt.

4. Fertilization

During breeding, you should fertilize frequently, once every half a month during the growing season. Note that the concentration of the fertilizer should be low, and use decomposed bean cake water to avoid burning the roots with concentrated fertilizer. In addition, be careful to stop applying in summer and winter to avoid composting.

5. Notes

During the maintenance period, pay attention to timely pruning. When diseased leaves, yellow leaves or dead leaves are found, cut them off with scissors to prevent other leaves from being infected. In addition, it can provide better ventilation, which is beneficial to growth.
