Causes and treatments for yellow apple leaves

Causes and treatments for yellow apple leaves

1. Insufficient light

1. Reason: The tree may have a large number of branches and lush leaves in the crown, which may cause the inner part of the crown or the lower leaves to not receive sufficient sunlight, resulting in problems such as yellowing and falling leaves.

2. Treatment method: Prune the yellow leaves in time, and reasonably relax the crown of dense branches and leaves, open up the internal space, and increase the light transmittance and ventilation inside the plant.

2. Lack of Iron

1. Cause: During the growth of apples, deficiency-induced yellow leaf disease caused by iron deficiency is the most common. When iron deficiency occurs, the leaves near the top of the new shoots turn completely yellow, some leaves have burnt edges, and gradually begin to fall off.

2. Treatment method: If there is iron deficiency, you need to deal with the branches and leaves that have turned completely yellow. Use an appropriate amount of compound iron fertilizer solution mixed with citric acid and ferrous sulfate, and spray it on the leaves before 10 am or after 4 pm. The mist points should be fine and the spraying should be even and thorough.

3. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: If the interval between fertilization is too long, fertilizer deficiency may occur easily, and yellowing of leaves may occur. During the growth, flowering and fruiting periods of trees, the trees consume a large amount of nutrients. If they are not supplemented in time, they will become deficient in nutrients and the leaves will turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: If there is a long-term lack of fertilizer, you should immediately supplement it with fertilizer, increase the number of fertilizations, speed up the frequency of fertilization, and appropriately use compound fertilizers to supplement various elements. Do not over-fertilize, and resume normal fertilization after the leaves improve.
