How to grow Silver Queen in spring

How to grow Silver Queen in spring

1. Increase lighting

The metabolism of green plants cannot be separated from sunlight, especially in spring. Whether the amount of sunlight is sufficient directly affects the growth of the plants, and Silver Queen is no exception. When exposing the Silver Queen to light in spring, the lighting time should not be less than five hours. If the sunlight is too strong, shade should be provided.

2. Control the temperature

It is sensitive to temperature. If the temperature of the growing environment does not match its growth habits, it will directly affect the development of the plant. If the temperature is below five degrees Celsius when grown outdoors, the plants will easily be frostbitten. Therefore, we should start to prevent cold weather when the temperature is around ten degrees. The temperature suitable for its growth is around 18 degrees. The temperature difference in early spring is relatively large, so it is best not to maintain it in the open field. The survival rate of open field maintenance in early spring is not high.

3. Increase watering

Silver Queen likes moisture, but its roots are not tolerant to waterlogging, so when increasing the frequency of watering, you should control the amount of water. The amount of water to be applied is generally based on the standard that the soil should be completely moistened and there should be no water accumulation in the soil. The temperature in early spring is relatively low, so the temperature of the water used should be similar to the temperature of the growing environment. If you find that the roots of the plant are rotten by water, you need to pull out the plant, repair the rotten parts, dry it in the sun and then replant it.
