How to keep spider plants safe during winter

How to keep spider plants safe during winter

1. Get more sun

The winter sun is not strong, so you should expose it to the sun as much as possible, and it is best to keep it in the sun all day. When caring for it at home, just place it on the south balcony or south windowsill. If it does not see sunlight for a long time, its leaves will become very dull.

2. Go indoors to keep warm

At the beginning of winter, it must be moved indoors for maintenance. It is suitable for growing in a warm environment and is easily frostbitten if it spends the winter outdoors. However, when keeping it indoors, do not place it too close to the heating source. Most areas in the north have floor heating, so do not place it directly underground. Also, don't place it too close to air conditioning or heater, otherwise the leaves will dry out.

3. Adjust the temperature

If you want it to spend the winter safely, you must adjust the temperature to above 12℃. If the temperature is too low, you must also pay attention to keeping warm. You can cover it with plastic wrap or a plastic bag to prevent the plant from being frostbitten.

4. Pay attention to water control

In the cold winter, you need to control the amount of watering. Usually, as long as the soil is not too dry, it is fine. Watering should also be done after the soil becomes dry. In addition, water temperature is also very important. It is best to be close to room temperature. If the water temperature is too low, the roots of the spider plant will be frozen.
