Under normal circumstances, it starts to shed its skin in late summer and early autumn, and we need to control the water around November in autumn and winter. When we find small holes opening in the middle of the leaves of Lithops, it means that it is about to shed its skin, which usually happens around December. The peeling period is very long, about two months, and some horizontal lines will appear before peeling.

You can also carefully check its sides. Usually, when there are hard protrusions on both sides, it means the skin is about to peel off.

2. Precautions

1. Stop watering: Generally speaking, when you see cracks on the leaves or a slight bulge at the bottom of the plant, you should stop watering. However, plants that are too wrinkled should be given a small amount of water, and the rest should be cut off from water.

2. Sunlight: When peeling, sunlight is also very important. If there is not enough sunlight, the peeling time will be greatly prolonged, so it should be allowed to see the sun appropriately.
