1. Branch selectionIf you want the wintersweet to take root quickly, you need to choose a healthy branch. Generally, mother trees that are growing vigorously and free of diseases and insect pests are used. Cut a 20 cm long branch with buds and leaves on it. Remove the lower leaves and keep only the top few. Then cut the bottom into a horseshoe shape to make it easier to absorb water. 2. DisinfectionThe most feared thing about rooting in water is bacterial infection, so disinfection must be done well. Dilute carbendazim or potassium permanganate with 1000 times water, and then soak the branches in it. The soaking time should not be too long, generally 20 minutes is enough. 3. RootingSoak the upper and lower ends of the branch in rooting water and wrap them with a damp cloth. And place it in an environment of 12-16℃ and do not expose it to light. It takes about a week to promote rooting, and it is best not to move it during this period. 4. Cutting hydroponicsChoose a hydroponic container of appropriate size, insert the wintersweet branches into it, and then pour in clean water. The water should cover the bottom of the branches, but not too full, just one-third of the distance from the bottle mouth. Place the container in a ventilated place, change the water once a day, and it will take 1-3 weeks for the seeds to take root and sprout. |
