Cultivation method of soft-branch yellow cicada

Cultivation method of soft-branch yellow cicada

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: The soft-branch yellow cicada prefers slightly higher temperatures so that it can grow well. Specifically, 20 to 30 degrees is more suitable. Below zero degrees, its growth is slow. Above 30 degrees, there are also adverse effects.

2. Light: The soft-branch yellow cicada likes light. It will grow well and bloom well under good sunlight conditions. However, the strong light in summer should be blocked, and also after breeding. In both cases, artificial shading is required, and the degree of shading should preferably be between 50 and 80 percent.

3. Watering: Soft-branched yellow bell likes moisture, so the substrate needs to be kept moist. At the same time, attention should also be paid to the air humidity, which should be kept between 75 and 85 percent. In very dry weather, spray with water every day. After breeding, the humidity of the air must also be ensured.

4. Fertilization: The soft-branch yellow bell does not require too much fertilizer. You can choose soil rich in nutrients, and then apply top dressing once or twice a month.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Cutting method can be used. This method is more suitable in spring and autumn. It is best to choose branches that are one to two years old, between 15 and 20 centimeters in length, and preferably have three or four nodes. Sandy soil can be used as a substrate for cuttings. After insertion, it needs to be placed in a cool place and kept moist, and the temperature should be around 20 degrees. After about twenty days, it will take root. When it grows to about ten centimeters in height, it can be transplanted.

2. Pruning: First of all, the step of pinching is very important because it directly affects the number of flowers that will bloom later. The next step is to prune other unsuitable branches, such as dry, yellowed ones, etc.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: In summer and autumn, a disease that is more likely to occur is called "leaf blight", which causes leaves to fall. In poorly ventilated conditions, the disease will be relatively serious. It can be treated with benomyl and plenty of ventilation.

2. Pests: They are mainly divided into two categories: red spider mites and scale insects, which can be eliminated by quick-killing methods.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is poisonous. The toxicity is concentrated in multiple parts such as bark, leaves, flowers, and seeds.

2. Can it be kept at home? Generally not, because it is poisonous.
