Succulent soil preparation requirements

Succulents are plump and cute, and are the favorite of most people. Succulents require fertile soil with good drainage, loose and breathable texture, rich in humus, and most importantly, no fine dust.

Most succulents are suitable for weakly acidic soil, and only a few are suitable for weakly alkaline soil, so when preparing succulent soil, pay attention to the pH value suitable for plant growth.

How to prepare soil for succulent plants

1. The general soil ratio for succulents: if you want good air permeability, mix the soil in the ratio of two parts peat soil, two parts coarse sand, five parts large particles, and one part organic matter; if you want the soil to retain water, use five parts peat soil, two parts coarse sand, and three parts large particles.

2. After mixing the various ingredients of the succulent soil, add an appropriate amount of charcoal particles and slow-release fertilizer and stir evenly. Use it as the middle layer of soil in the flowerpot. First, spread a layer of large-grained clay on the bottom of the flowerpot, and then put the prepared soil into the flowerpot. Do not add too much soil.

Precautions for preparing succulent soil

It is better to prepare loose and breathable granular soil for succulents. Pay attention to keeping the soil breathable. Generally, you can choose several kinds of granular soil and mix them together. The soil configured in this way is more suitable for the root breathing of succulents and promotes growth.
