How to grow umbrella bamboo

1. Soil

The root system of umbrella bamboo is relatively developed, and the culture soil needs to provide drainage, ventilation, and neutral loam or peat soil containing humus, so as to ensure root breathing and provide nutrition. It cannot be used directly and needs to be disinfected and sterilized first. It can be exposed to the sun.

2. Water

Umbrella bamboo likes water, but is afraid of dry climate. The soil in the pot needs to be kept moist. If there is a lack of water, the tips of the leaves will dry out. In addition to watering the roots, humidity also needs to be maintained, especially in dry northern regions.

3. Fertilization

Growth requires the application of fertilizer. Apply base fertilizer when repotting to ensure a good nutrient supply. Spring and autumn are the peak growing seasons, and fertilizer needs to be applied 1-2 times. You can use compound fertilizer with balanced elements to ensure sufficient nutrients during growth, but the concentration should not be too high.

4. Temperature

It has certain requirements for temperature. The suitable temperature for its growth is about 15-25 degrees Celsius. It cannot withstand the cold and will be frostbitten below 0 degrees Celsius, so it must be moved indoors in time.

5. Lighting

It can tolerate shade, but prefers sunlight and needs to be placed in a bright place indoors with sufficient light. The summer sun is too strong and needs to be blocked.
