1. Planting time: Tomatoes are generally planted in spring or autumn, with slight differences in time in different regions. For example, spring sowing in Beijing usually takes place from mid-February to March. Autumn sowing in Shanghai, Nanjing and other places is carried out in July and August. If it is a high incidence period of disease, it is generally necessary to avoid the time when the disease is prone to occur, and sowing can be postponed for 1-2 months.

2. Germination treatment: Before sowing tomato seeds, they must be germinated to increase the germination rate. Soak the seeds in clean water for about 1-2 hours, take them out and put them in 55℃ hot water, maintain the water temperature and soak them for 15 minutes. This can prevent many diseases. Soak in warm water for 6-8 hours. After the seeds swell, place them in a place with a temperature of 25-28℃ for 2-3 days.

3. Soil preparation: Tomatoes require nutrient soil, which should be rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The pH should be below 7, that is, the soil should be acidic. Loose soil can improve drainage so that water will not accumulate and submerge the roots after planting. In addition, if the seeds have a certain water retention capacity and are in a moist environment, they will be easier to germinate.

4. How to sow: Sprinkle the seeds into the soil and cover them with a layer of fine soil about 1 cm thick. After sowing, spray with carbendazim solution to prevent damping-off disease. If it is autumn sowing, you need to cover it with plastic film before winter to keep the seedlings warm. If sowing in spring, you need to cover the seeds with a shade net in summer to prevent strong sunlight from burning the seedlings.

2. Tomato prices

The price of tomatoes is often affected by regional and seasonal factors. The price at the place of production is often lower. If it is not grown in season but grown in a greenhouse, the price will be slightly more expensive. It usually sells for 1.3 yuan per catty, the cheaper ones are around 0.6 yuan, and the more expensive ones will not exceed 1.7 yuan.
