How to grow lily bulbs bigger and bigger? What are the soil requirements of lilies?

1. Bulb processing

If you want your lily bulbs to grow bigger, you need to select suitable bulbs. The bulbs you plant need to be fuller, stronger and more vigorous so that they can develop well in later maintenance. If the bulb itself is too shriveled and small, it will be difficult to grow well in the later stage. Select suitable bulbs, peel off the old skin, and disinfect them before planting.

2. Full Sunlight

Lilies are very light-loving, and sunlight is an important factor that promotes good growth, especially during the growing period. Sufficient sunlight must be ensured. They can be placed on a south-facing balcony to fully meet their needs for sunlight. Only with sufficient sunlight can photosynthesis take place and nutrients be accumulated to maintain the growth of bulbs. Note that you don't have to put it in the sun all the time. When the light is strong, you need to block it appropriately.

3. Provide nutrients

Nutrients are one of the important factors that promote growth. Before planting in pots, you need to apply enough base fertilizer at the bottom of the pot. You can choose fully decomposed compost, or a small amount of bone meal, and spread a layer of soil on top of the base fertilizer. When growth begins in spring, more fertilizer is needed. A thin layer of fertilizer can be applied every 15 days or so. Phosphorus fertilizer should also be increased appropriately before flowering.

4. Soil requirements

The growth of lilies has certain requirements for the soil. It needs to be loose, breathable, and permeable. It also needs to contain certain nutrients. It can be mixed with sand, garden soil, and leaf mold in a ratio of 1:1:1.
