How to plant honeysuckle in pots and how to plant it well

How to plant honeysuckle in pots and how to plant it well

1. Prepare the soil

When potting honeysuckle, choose a slightly larger and deeper pot, and the soil must be breathable and loose. You can mix it yourself, using seven parts garden soil, two parts vermiculite and one part coarse sand, which will meet its soil needs.

2. Planting seedlings

After preparing the potting soil, you can plant the seedlings. First, dig a few small holes on the surface of the potting soil, then put the seedlings in, flatten its roots, stretch them out, and then carefully fill them with soil. After filling, compact it to prevent it from tilting when watering later.

3. Post-planting maintenance

After planting, water the plants thoroughly as soon as possible to allow both the plants and the soil to absorb enough water. Afterwards, place it in a well-ventilated and dark place for about a week. It will resume growth after about a week and can be managed normally. Be careful not to expose the seedlings to sunlight too quickly, as this may burn the seedlings.

4. Post-management

It has a relatively high demand for water and nutrients during the seedling stage, so it needs to be watered frequently and fertilized regularly. Usually it needs to be watered once every three to five days, but if there are consecutive rainy days, the amount of water should be reduced, and the flower pot should be moved indoors to avoid rain. There should be no accumulation of water. Fertilization is generally done once every half a month. The specific type of fertilizer should be applied according to the growth stage to replenish the required nutrients in time so that the plant can grow vigorously.
