2. How to propagate orchids by cuttings

Prepare the soil: The soil needs to be prepared in advance. The soil for orchid cuttings needs to be loose, breathable and well-drained. You can mix clean garden soil and fine sand in a ratio of 2:3, and put some pebbles at the bottom of the flowerpot.

Cut branches: Use sterilized scissors to cut a branch with nodes at the position of the pseudobulb of the mother plant, about ten centimeters long. Keep the leaves above, then spray fungicides such as carbendazim on the wound for disinfection, and then place it in a cool place to dry.

Branch cuttings: Insert the disinfected and dried branches directly into the prepared soil, and then compact the soil at the cutting site with your hands. Then water thoroughly to provide sufficient moisture for the plant's growth.

Post-maintenance: After the branches are cut and grafted, attention should be paid to the post-maintenance work to promote the branches to take root as soon as possible. After watering thoroughly once, you can water it every three to five days to keep the soil moist. And place it in a ventilated place with certain scattered light to provide it with certain scattered light. Generally, after two or three weeks of maintenance, the plant will grow roots.
