The simplest and most practical method for treating pig manure

Pig manure is a very good organic fertilizer that can promote plant growth and provide nutrients for plants. However, pig manure also has some disadvantages. If it is not treated, it will pollute the environment. Here we talk about the simplest and most practical method of treating pig manure.

1. How to deal with pig manure in pig farms?

1. Dry the pig manure

Pig farms can use the method of drying pig manure to deal with pig manure. The sun drying method is easy to handle and produces less sewage.

2. Use pig manure as organic fertilizer

For pig farms, pig manure can be used as organic fertilizer for plants. Pig manure can provide plants with the nutrients they need for their growth cycle.

3. Use pig manure as biogas for lighting

When pig manure is fermented , biogas is produced, which can be burned for cooking or used for lighting in pig farms.

4. Pig manure composting and fermentation method

Using pig manure composting and fermentation to treat pig manure is not only low-cost, but also can effectively kill pathogens and deodorize.

5. Construction of sedimentation tank

In small pig farms, a tertiary sedimentation tank can be built to treat pig manure.

2. How to ferment pig manure into organic fertilizer?

1. Material ratio

(1) First, prepare the fermentation agent, pig manure and rice bran.

(2) Then mix the starter and rice bran in a ratio of 1:5.

(3) Then spread the mixture evenly in the pig manure pile and stir it evenly. Normally, 1 kg of fertilizer fermentation agent is needed for 1.5 tons of pig manure.

2. Stacking construction materials

Generally speaking, the height of the pig manure pile should be between 1.5m-2m, the width should be 2m, and the length should be 2-4m.

3. Water requirements

(1) The moisture content of the fermented material needs to be controlled at around 65%. Too little moisture will affect the fermentation speed, while too much moisture will easily produce odor.

(2) If you want to determine whether the moisture content of the material is appropriate, you can grab a handful of the material with your hand. There should be water between your fingers, but it should not drip.

4. Temperature requirements

It is generally recommended that the starting temperature for fermenting pig manure should be above 15°C.

5. Turn the pile for ventilation

(1) During the fermentation process, pay attention to providing proper oxygen to the manure pile and turning the pile.

(2) When the temperature rises to 75℃, it needs to be turned over several times. It is best to control the temperature at 65℃.

6. Fermentation is complete

Generally, the pig manure is fermented in about a week. When the material turns dark brown and the temperature drops to room temperature, the fermentation is complete.
