Tea tree planting technology and management

Tea tree planting technology and management

Our country has a long history, and tea culture reflects the national culture. With the continuous development of tea , we need to target the actual situation, adapt to local conditions, master efficient tea planting techniques, improve tea quality, and increase tea production. Let's talk about the planting technology and management of tea trees.

1. Select high-quality varieties

There are many varieties of tea at present. We should follow the principle of "adapting measures to local conditions" to select suitable varieties to meet the needs of high-yield tea cultivation. The selected varieties must meet local fertilizer and water conditions, soil conditions and climate conditions, otherwise the tea yield will decrease and the tea quality will be poor. We must strictly control the quality of tea seeds and select excellent varieties with good disease resistance, wide applicability and strong vitality.

2. Reasonable density planting

Reasonable density planting is the key to promoting high-yield tea cultivation and is also an extremely important influencing factor. Currently, there are three factors that affect the planting density of tea. First, the characteristics of tea varieties. The planting density of different tea varieties is often different. Second, the terrain conditions. Since tea trees like sunlight, if they are planted on sunny mountains, the planting density can be larger; if they are planted on shady mountains, the planting density can be smaller. Third, soil water and fertilizer conditions. If the soil has better water and fertilizer conditions, the planting density can be larger; if the soil has poor water and fertilizer conditions, the planting density can be smaller.

3. Irrigation management

Since tea requires a lot of water during its growth and development, irrigation management needs to be strengthened. Generally, tea leaves have different water requirements at different growth and development stages. If they are not watered in time, the tea leaves may grow slowly. At the same time, attention should be paid to drainage during the rainy season, otherwise the tea trees may be easily waterlogged and die.

4. Reasonable fertilization

Adequate fertilizer is conducive to the healthy growth of tea trees. A lot of practical experience shows that newly planted saplings can only grow rapidly in fertile soil. After they are established, long-acting basal fertilizers can be applied appropriately. After the tea trees survive, accelerated-release fertilizers can be applied to meet the tea trees' demand for fertilizers. At the same time, tea farmers should carry out targeted topdressing based on the specific characteristics of tea. They can also pile an appropriate amount of farmyard manure near the tea trees. It is best to use already decomposed farmyard manure, which is more environmentally friendly and can minimize the use of chemical fertilizers.

5. Reasonable pruning

During the growth and development of tea trees, if pruning is not carried out in time, the crown formation speed of the young trees will be significantly slowed down, especially in the later stages of development, which will also reduce the load capacity of the crown, leading to a series of problems such as poor tree permeability. If you are not careful, pests and diseases will occur, which will have a great impact on the quality of tea. Therefore, it is necessary to prune the tea trees properly.

6. Pest and disease control

In accordance with the pest and disease control indicators and appropriate control periods, adopt agricultural, physical, biological and chemical technologies to prevent and control pests and diseases, comprehensively apply insecticidal lamps, sex attractants and sticky insect color plates, minimize the use of chemical pesticides , select recommended pesticides, and do not use banned or restricted pesticides.
