How to plant seabuckthorn, seabuckthorn potted planting technology

1. Planting time

Sea buckthorn planting is divided into spring sowing and autumn sowing. Spring sowing is from February to May, and autumn sowing is from August to October. Seedlings will emerge in the same year if sown in spring, but will have to wait until the second year if sown in autumn. Although this plant has strong heat resistance and cold resistance, in order for the seedlings to grow healthily, it is still necessary to choose a warm time to plant it.

2. Seed selection and germination

Before preparing to sow sea buckthorn, it is necessary to germinate it first. The germination method is very simple. First, soak the seeds in 0.5% potassium permanganate solution for disinfection. Take them out after 2 hours and replace them with 40-60℃ warm water to soak for 1-2 days. Then mix them with river sand. When 30%-40% of the seeds have cracked, they can be sown.

3. Pot soil preparation

Sea buckthorn has a strong adaptability and is not demanding on the soil; it can grow as long as the soil is not too sticky. Generally, sandy soil is used as the substrate. In order to make it grow better, an appropriate amount of base fertilizer can be mixed into the soil. In addition, you can put broken tiles at the bottom of the pot to improve its drainage ability.

4. Planting and maintenance

Fill the prepared potting soil into the flowerpot, place the seeds in the middle, cover with a layer of fine soil, pour appropriate amount of water, and wait for it to take root and sprout. This plant has a strong vitality, so it does not have high requirements for the environment. In order to ensure that it can bloom and bear fruit better, it needs to be placed in a sunny place so that it can receive sufficient light. You should also pay attention to fertilizing and pruning regularly to promote the growth and development of new shoots and make it more lush.
