How to store cut pumpkin? Can it be put in the refrigerator?

Pumpkin is a common food in people's daily life, but because of its large size, it is difficult to eat it all at once. Therefore, it is important to preserve the remaining pumpkin intact so that it does not spoil.

1. How to store cut pumpkin

Apply plastic wrap: After cutting the pumpkin, first hollow out the inside with a spoon, then wrap it completely with plastic wrap to prevent bacteria from entering. Then put it in the refrigerator and it will be fine to store it for five or six days. It should be noted that the pumpkin should be placed with the stem facing upwards. If the stem faces downwards, the pumpkin will rot more easily.

Apply salt to the cut: After cutting the pumpkin, hollow out the inside and then apply a circle of salt along the cut. The pumpkin will not rot and will not lose too much moisture if stored for a week. When using it later, cut off the outermost layer and the inside will still be fresh.

Stick a few pieces of tissue paper on the cut surface: After the paper absorbs the juice of the pumpkin, it can ensure that the pumpkin flesh is dry and play a certain anti-corrosion role. This method can preserve the pumpkin for half a month without losing too much moisture.

Generally speaking, if you buy pumpkin and put it in a cool place, it can be kept for about a month. If you put it in the refrigerator, it can be kept for two to three months. But if it is a cut pumpkin, be sure to remove the inner pulp before storing it, otherwise it will easily rot from the center, and then wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator.

2. Can it be put in the refrigerator?

The cut pumpkin can be placed in the refrigerator, but the pulp must be scooped out first, and then the pumpkin is wrapped with plastic wrap to prevent moisture loss.
