How to plant gladiolus bulbs

How to plant gladiolus bulbs

1. Processing bulbs

When planting gladiolus, you should choose high-quality bulbs that are full in shape, without any defects, relatively healthy, and with bulbs between 10-12cm. After selecting the bulbs, peel off the outermost layer of their skin and then soak them in some low-concentration disinfectant water for disinfection. Afterwards, take them out and place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

2. Planting

When planting it, you should use loose, breathable, fertile and slightly acidic potting soil. The flower pots should be transparent enough. After disinfecting the selected flower soil and flower pots, put the soil into the pot, smooth the surface, and then place the disinfected bulbs in the flower soil and bury them, keeping the depth at about 10cm. Be careful not to plant too deep, otherwise the bulbs will have difficulty germinating.

3. Waiting for germination

After Zhonghao, you need to provide the bulbs with a suitable environment so that they can germinate successfully. Specifically, it needs to be placed in a well-ventilated environment with a temperature of around 20°C. Before germination, be sure to provide it with appropriate moisture and do not let the soil in the pot dry out completely. Whenever you see the soil in the pot is dry, you need to spray it with water using a watering can to keep the soil moist. After a period of care like this, the bulbs will be able to germinate smoothly.
