The difference between Huoxuedan and Viola yedoensis

1. Leaves

The leaves of Dandelion are herbaceous, heart-shaped or kidney-shaped, with a petiole that is one or two times the length of the blade and often purple underneath; the leaves of Viola yedoensis are triangular or relatively slender oval, generally oblong on the upper part, with a petiole that is one or two times the length of the blade and often purple underneath.

The lower part of the leaves of Viola yedoensis are triangular-ovate or narrowly ovate, while the upper part is longer, oblong, narrowly ovate-lanceolate or oblong-ovate.

2. Flowers

There are relatively few flowers of the plant, usually two, and rarely 4-6. The bracts are very small, only 4 mm, the calyx is a tubular structure, the disc is cup-shaped, and the style is slightly protruding.

The flowers of Viola yedoensis are medium-sized, violet or lavender, rarely white, and are generally lighter in color with purple columnar lines.
