What to do if the leaves of the euphorbia pulcherrima turn yellow

Temperature is too high or too low

The lucky charm plant likes a warm and humid environment. The most suitable growth temperature is 21~28℃, and the maximum temperature cannot be higher than 30℃. High temperature is not conducive to its growth and will slow down its growth. However, if the temperature remains at 10°C for a long time, the leaves or bracts will turn red or white and lose color.

If yellowing occurs due to low temperature, you can spray antifreeze and anti-cold agents or raise the temperature appropriately. If the temperature is too high, ventilate and cool it down in time, and the situation will gradually improve.

Over- or under-watering

The lucky plant likes a humid environment, so just keep the soil in the pot moist. It is generally not needed to be watered on rainy days. It is best to use dried water for watering at home, and do not use cold water directly. Improper watering will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Watering should be appropriate and the degree should be controlled. You can add a small amount of water to the leaf tube as a supplement when watering is too little. You can spray clean water on the leaves once a day to remove dust and make the leaves bright. It can also enhance the photosynthesis of the plant and promote its growth.

Inappropriate placement

The lucky plant does not absorb radiation. If you place the plant near an air conditioner or a TV, excessive radiation will cause the leaves to turn yellow. In addition, it is normal for the leaves to gradually turn yellow and wilt after the plant blooms, so don't worry.

Improper fertilization

The flowering period of the lucky charm plant currently on the market is in winter, so it needs sufficient nutrients and is usually fertilized once a week. You can choose the soaking liquid of bean cake, mahjong residue, or fermented rice water.

When there is insufficient fertilization or a lack of nitrogen, the branches and leaves will be weak, and the leaves will be thin and yellow. It is necessary to turn the pot over in time, replace it with new loose and fertile culture soil, and gradually apply thin and well-rotted liquid fertilizer or compound flower fertilizer. If too much fertilizer is applied, the new leaves will become thick, with an uneven surface, and the old leaves will become dry, brown and fall off. At this time, you should stop fertilizing immediately, increase the amount of watering, so that the fertilizer flows out from the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot, or immediately turn the pot over, rinse the soil with water and then replant it in the pot.

Inappropriate lighting

In order to make the leaves of the lucky plant bright and bloom regularly, light is very important. In winter, the light time should be at least 4 to 5 hours. On rainy days, lights can be used to increase the light. In summer, place the plant in a cool place and provide appropriate shade. As long as the light is appropriate, the leaves will not turn yellow.

Unsuitable soil

Usually, there will be no problems with the soil for plants bought directly from the flower market. Just pay attention to the soil quality when adding soil later. If you choose soil with heavy viscosity, it will be not conducive to the growth of the plants. It is recommended to directly purchase flower soil and add it.
