What to do if the leaves of Pyracantha turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Pyracantha turn yellow

1. Reason

1. Environmental issues

It prefers slightly acidic soil. If the soil and water used to grow flowers are alkaline, it will affect its normal growth. Moreover, the temperature in the house should be higher than ten degrees, and there should be sufficient light. If there is no sunlight frequently, the leaves will fall and turn yellow.

2. Long-term lack of fertilizer

If it is an old tree and it has been planted for too long and the soil has not been renewed, the nutrients in it will be lacking. As the roots grow bigger, a thick root mat will grow on the edge of the flowerpot, causing the roots to separate from the soil. The aging of the roots cannot meet the needs of the Pyracantha, and its branches will wither. First, the leaves become very thin and yellow, and then the leaves and branches will shrink and become dead branches.

3. Improper planting

If the seedlings are relatively large and are not handled properly when moved to the pot, or if too many roots are cut when the roots are pruned, leaving fewer roots, it will become unbalanced, without enough water and fertilizer, and the leaves will turn yellow.

II. Methods

1. You can add some ferrous sulfate fertilizer to it, which is available in most flower shops. If the temperature is not high enough, you can first check whether it is dead or not. Scrape off a little bark. If there is moisture, it is normal. At this time, you need to increase the temperature in time.

2. If there is a lack of nutrients, you can add fertilizer or change the pot, but it is best to change the pot once every one or two years. When operating, cut off the old roots inside and add new nutrient soil. You can add some fermented cake fertilizer to the bottom of the pot, or you can dilute it and add it along the edge of the pot.

3. It is best to repot it in spring and autumn, leaving more roots and pruning its crown more.
