How to breed the lucky charm

How to breed the lucky charm

1. Division propagation

After this plant blooms, one to more tiller buds will grow at its base. It is best to divide it when it has 6 leaves or more, which is most suitable in April each year.

To use this method, you must first carefully remove the mother plant from the pot, break off the small buds, or cut them off with a knife. Make sure the knife edge is smooth. It is best to disinfect the wound with wood ash or carbendazim powder, etc. Then put it in a cool and well-ventilated place, and wait until the wound is almost dry before planting it in the soil.

After planting, do not water it immediately. You can spray a little water on the leaves and the surface of the soil, and then put the pot in a cool and ventilated place. It will take about 20 days for roots to grow and will bloom in 1 to 3 years.

2. Seed propagation

This method is relatively simple, but the seeds of this plant are not easy to obtain. We can buy them directly from the flower shop, but this method requires a longer maintenance time.

When sowing, the temperature should be controlled above 16 degrees Celsius. It is best to use slightly acidic soil and sow the seeds in the morning when the temperature starts to rise. After sowing, it is best to cover the seeds with a layer of chopped moss or a layer of plastic film. After sowing, the temperature should be controlled between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. Seedlings will grow in about 25 days. When the seedlings grow to about 4 cm, they can be placed in a shallow tray. After they grow a little more, they can be transplanted and finally planted in pots. It usually blooms in 3 to 4 years.
