What to do if the leaves of lucky bamboo turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of lucky bamboo turn yellow

1. Reduce light

Reason: If lucky bamboo is exposed to strong light for too long, yellow spots will grow on the leaves, and the entire leaf will look yellow and dull.

Solution: Move the lucky bamboo to a place with scattered light indoors and maintain it slowly.

2. Increase lighting

Reason: Lucky bamboo has been in a shaded place for a long time. There is not enough sunlight for photosynthesis, so the leaves cannot synthesize nutrients and turn yellow.

Solution: Move it to a place with plenty of sunlight but not strong sunshine.

3. Root pruning and replanting

Reason: Too much watering or too much fertilizer will affect the roots of lucky bamboo. In mild cases, it can cause the roots to turn black, and in severe cases, it can lead to root rot. When the root system is damaged, it will directly affect the efficiency of nutrient absorption, causing the leaves to lack nutrients and begin to turn yellow.

Solution: Take the lucky bamboo out of the water or soil, observe the roots, and cut off the black and rotten roots with sterilized scissors. Then spray some medicine on the wound for sterilization, and then put it in a cool place to dry. Wait until the agent has dried up before using new medium for cultivation.

4. Water more

Reason: Water is the raw material for the photosynthesis reaction of lucky bamboo. Once there is a lack of water, the leaves will not be able to carry out photosynthesis to synthesize nutrients, and will turn yellow.

Solution: Water the lucky bamboo more to ensure sufficient water supply.

5. Add fertilizer

Reason: If lucky bamboo is not fertilized for a long time, the plant will not be able to absorb enough nutrients, and the leaves will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients.

Solution: Apply some fertilizer to the lucky bamboo, but not too much. Apply thin fertilizer frequently.
