What to do if the leaves turn yellow in hydroponics

1. Increase humidity

Reason: Too dry air will cause the leaves of the plant to lose water, causing them to turn yellow.

Solution: Although it is hydroponics, it is not enough for the roots alone to absorb water, water must also be added to the leaves. You can fill a spray bottle with clean water and spray it on the surface of the leaves. Do not spray too much water to avoid forming water droplets. During hot seasons, increase the number of watering times per day.

2. Proper drainage

Cause: If there is too much water in the hydroponic container, causing the roots to be completely submerged, the leaves will also turn yellow.

Solution: Drain some of the water in the container to ensure that one-third of the roots are exposed. Don't add too much water when adding water, just water it to two-thirds of the ground.

3. Increase fertilizer

Cause: Due to lack of nutrients, the plant grows poorly, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Add 1-2 drops of nutrient solution into the water, so that the various nutrients needed for plant growth can be met. Do not add nutrient solution too frequently or too much, otherwise it will have a negative effect on the roots.

4. Increase the temperature

Cause: Smooth Sailing is susceptible to frostbite at lower temperatures, which can cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Place the plant in a warmer place indoors. Especially in winter, low temperatures cause the water temperature to drop, causing more direct frostbite to the roots. You can place it in the sun to increase the temperature of the environment.
