Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of dianthus

Causes and treatments for yellowing leaves of dianthus

1. Insufficient light

1. Reason: Indoor cultivation is prone to insufficient light, which will cause new branches and leaves to sprout and old leaves to wither and turn yellow. And it is easy to cause edema.

2. Treatment method: Remove the yellow leaves in time and place them in a sunny place such as a balcony. Fertilize it when necessary to increase the absorption of nutrients and carry out photosynthesis faster and better.

2. Improper watering

1. Reason: If you don’t water it on time, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off from the bottom to the top, and may even die. If you water too much, waterlogging will occur, damaging the roots and making it unable to absorb nutrients, causing the tender leaves to turn light yellow.

2. Treatment method: Water on time and at an appropriate frequency. Rewater immediately if the plant becomes dry. If you water too much, stop watering. In serious cases, you need to remove the plant from the pot and deal with the rotten roots. Dry the moisture in the soil and then replant it.

3. The temperature is too high

1. Reason: The temperature is high in summer, and dianthus generally enters a semi-dormant state. Too high temperature affects its absorption of iron from the soil, causing the newly grown leaves to turn yellow due to high temperature or iron deficiency.

2. Treatment method: If it can be moved, immediately move it to a place with suitable and cooler temperature, such as an air-conditioned room. Provide shade outdoors and spray chelated iron solution three times a week and things will basically return to normal.
