Diseases of Bauhinia: Angular leaf spotsymptomAngular leaf spot is a fungal disease caused by two pathogens: Cercospora and Cercospora crenosa. The disease usually occurs from July to September. The disease usually starts from the lower leaves and gradually spreads upwards, causing poor plant growth. The disease is more severe in rainy seasons, and the pathogen overwinters on diseased leaves and debris. Angular leaf spot disease mainly occurs on the leaves of Bauhinia. The spots are polygonal and range in color from yellowish brown to dark reddish brown. In the later stages of the disease, small dark brown mold spots will develop. In severe cases, the leaves are covered with spots, which often connect into one piece, causing the leaves to wither and fall off. Prevention and treatment methodsIn autumn, remove diseased and dead leaves in time and burn them in a concentrated area. When the disease occurs, spray 700 to 1000 times diluted 50% carbendazim wettable powder, 800 to 1000 times diluted 70% mancozeb wettable powder, or 500 times diluted 80% mancozeb zinc. Spray once every 10 days and spray 3 to 4 times in a row for better prevention and control effects. Diseases of Bauhinia: Fusarium WiltsymptomThe wilt disease will invade the roots of the plant through the underground wounds of the plant, destroy the vascular tissue of the plant, and cause the plant to wilt and die. Generally, leaves begin to turn yellow and fall off from the top of the diseased branches. The disease usually starts on individual branches and then gradually spreads to the entire plant. After peeling off the bark, you can see yellow-brown longitudinal stripes in the wood, and yellow-brown ring-like necrotic spots can be seen in its cross section. Prevention and treatment methodsPrune off diseased branches and leaves promptly. In serious cases, destroy the entire plant and disinfect it with 70% pentachloronitrobenzene or 3% ferrous sulfate after destruction. You can use 200 times of 50% thiram wettable powder or 400 times of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or 100ppm of antimycotic 120 aqueous solution for root irrigation. Diseases of Cercis: Leaf blightsymptomThe plants are planted densely and are prone to leaf blight, which usually starts in June. It mainly harms the leaves of Bauhinia. In the early stage of the disease, reddish-brown circular spots appear on the leaves, mostly growing on the edges of the leaves, gradually expanding to form irregular large spots, and the leaves die and fall off. Prevention and treatment methodsAfter the leaves of Bauhinia unfold, spray with 800 to 1000 times of 50% carbendazim or 500 to 1000 times of 50% thiophanate-methyl, once every 10 to 15 days, and spray 2 to 3 times in a row. |
