Disease and Pest Control of Lespedeza

Disease and Pest Control of Lespedeza

Diseases of Lespedeza: rust, white orange disease, root rot

Rust: The peak period of rust is around June and September. When the disease is serious, the plant can dry up in less than a month. The main damage is to the leaves of the plant. Moreover, the disease can survive the winter and slowly wake up in March to April of the following year.

White citrus disease: White citrus disease mainly harms the roots of plants. This disease is prone to occur in plants that have been eroded by pests and diseases because they have weak resistance and small growth. This disease can survive in the soil for many years and is a more serious disease in fruit plants.

Root rot: The peak period of root rot is around May, but generally a small amount occurs from March to April. This disease also harms the roots. It will make the roots unable to absorb water and nutrients, and then slowly dry up and die.

Pests of Lespedeza: aphids, borers

Aphids: A common plant pest that primarily eats away at the leaves of plants, thus reducing the health of the plants;

Fruit borer: It specifically damages the fruits of plants, burrowing into the fruits to absorb nutrients from them to survive.

Prevention and treatment methods:

If the problem is not serious in the early stage, you can cut off all the parts that have been infested by pests and diseases; if there are more pests and diseases, you need to spray them with drugs to damage the roots. In serious cases, you need to change the pot and soil, and do not plant with the original soil. When cleaning the pots in winter, be sure to clean up all the fallen and dead leaves, and then cut off all the diseased branches and leaves; turning the soil can effectively prevent diseases and pests from overwintering.
