Why doesn't hibiscus bloom?

The duration of hibiscus flowering

Hibiscus itself is a kind of flower with a very long flowering period, but when it blooms, you will find that this is not the case.

First of all, when hibiscus blooms, if it can continuously produce buds and there are many buds, it can bloom continuously, but in fact the flowering period of each flower is very short.

Secondly, in the dry weather of summer, a hibiscus flower can usually only bloom for one day. In rainy weather or early autumn, it will only bloom for 2 to 3 days at most.

In addition, in the northern regions, the climate is relatively cold and it usually only blooms once in the summer.

Reasons why hibiscus does not bloom

time

When growing hibiscus, if you find that it does not bloom, you first need to determine the time to see if the plant has reached the age of flowering. Generally speaking, hibiscus that are too small are unlikely to bloom. Newly cut plants will not have flowers in the first year. When the plant is not tall and the branches are thin, it is not easy to bloom. But there is no need to worry about this. Just take good care of it and the hibiscus will bloom at the right time.

Improper maintenance

If hibiscus does not bloom, it may be due to improper maintenance. The main reasons are as follows.

One is lack of nutrients. Hibiscus is a plant that likes fertilizer, and it needs a lot of nutrients to support it when it is growing. Insufficient or unbalanced fertilization will result in poor flowering or even no flowering. Therefore, when applying fertilizer, it must be applied in a balanced and reasonable manner.

The second is insufficient light. Hibiscus likes light. Plenty of sunlight is conducive to the formation of flower buds, which will ensure good flowering. Therefore, when growing hibiscus, be sure to maintain sufficient light and be careful not to provide too much shade.

The third is improper temperature. Hibiscus requires a higher temperature when it blooms. If the temperature is not enough during cultivation, it will bloom poorly.

Fourth, improper watering. Hibiscus is a plant that likes water, but please note that it is not tolerant to waterlogging or drought, otherwise it will have yellow leaves, fallen leaves, or even not bloom.
