What to do if the leaves of Kalanchoe turn black

What to do if the leaves of Kalanchoe turn black

1. Symptoms

1. This disease spreads over a relatively large area, and its leaves, petioles, flowers, and branches will all be affected, but the most important part is the leaves.

2. Generally, when this disease first starts, the leaves have reddish brown and purple brown spots, which then slowly turn black. This type of black lesion will have a yellow circle around it, generally appearing in a radiating state, and is about three to ten millimeters in size.

3. Generally speaking, in the later stage, there will be some black spots on the lesions. When the condition is more serious, the lower part will turn yellow and the leaves will fall off, and some branches will die.

4. Generally speaking, this disease begins to appear in May, and is more prevalent in July and September, because there will be more rain at this time. They will spread through rain, wind and insects. Therefore, if the place is relatively low, ventilation, light, fertilizer and water are not very good, the disease is easy to occur under such conditions.

2. Solution

1. In fact, when we first buy and plant, we should choose strong plants that are not prone to disease, so that the chance of them getting sick later will be much smaller.

2. If it has already been planted, we can only clean up the dead branches and leaves after autumn, and it is best to burn them. In addition, we also need to trim it and then place it in a place with good ventilation and strong light.

3. When new leaves grow out, we can use carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl solution to treat it. Spray it once every seven to ten days. Spraying three or four times can solve this symptom. Before symptoms appear, we must also be careful to control ourselves so as not to increase the chances of getting sick.
