What to do if lucky bamboo grows too tall

1. No processing required

Sometimes, the plant just grows a little tall, which only slightly affects the appearance, but has no impact in other aspects. So, if this is the case, we can ignore it and wait until it grows longer before dealing with it.

2. Root pruning

If it grows too tall, we can take out the plant and cut it diagonally towards its roots with scissors. Note that the roots you choose need to be older, not too tender. Otherwise, it will not be easy to continue taking root. After cutting the roots, you need to put it in a cool place and let it dry for about half a day to allow the wound to rest.

After that, you can continue to keep it in its original container. After this treatment, it may not grow particularly fast anymore. Also, don't throw away the cut roots, you can tie them together with the original plant. New leaves and roots will grow. In this way, it will grow into a plant with a more peculiar shape.

3. Cut it off directly

This treatment method is for plants grown in water. If it grows too tall, you can just cut it off. Prepare a sharp knife and cut the base into an oblique cut, making sure the cut is as smooth as possible. In this way, it has a larger area to absorb nutrients and water. After that, the water needs to be changed every three to four days.
