What to do if camellia does not bloom

What to do if camellia does not bloom

1. Reduce or increase light

1. Reason: When growing camellia, the more light does not necessarily mean better. When the light is too strong, the plant will be sunburned and its flowering will be affected. But the light cannot be too weak, otherwise it will affect its development, making the branches become thin and the flowering will decrease.

2. Solution: If it is a potted camellia, when the light is too strong, you need to use a shade net to block out some of the sunlight at noon. But in spring and autumn, make sure it gets 6 hours of light every day. If there is diffuse light indoors, it will better meet its light needs.

2. Reduce watering

1. Reason: Camellia is very afraid of an overly humid environment. If there is too much water, the roots will be soaked in water for a long time, causing the roots to rot and affecting flowering.

2. Solution: At this time, you need to cut off the rotten roots and replace part of the soil, and then put it in a pot. Watering is very important at this time. You must wait until the soil becomes dry or the leaves become wilted before watering. This way it can adapt to the new soil as soon as possible and then bloom. In addition, when there are flower buds, this method can also be used to prevent them from falling off.

3. Increase the amount of fertilizer

1. Reason: Camellia likes fertilizer very much. If there is insufficient fertilizer when it grows, it will lack nutrition, thus affecting its flowering.

2. Solution: Fertilize it regularly. Organic fertilizer is the best. Then stop applying it in July or August.
