How to take care of the newly bought Dieffenbachia

1. Change the soil

Dieffenbachia has high requirements for the soil for cultivation, and preferably sandy soil that is fertile, loose, well-drained and rich in humus. The newly bought evergreen has not yet adapted to the new environment, so changing the soil will easily damage its roots. Wait until it has adapted to the new environment before changing the soil.

2. Temperature

The temperature must be controlled well. For newly purchased evergreens, the surrounding temperature should be controlled between 20 and 38 degrees. This is the most suitable temperature for its growth and can allow it to adapt to the new environment faster.

3. Lighting

Don't rush to put the newly bought evergreen out into the sun to receive light. It is a semi-shade plant and does not require much light. Moreover, it has just arrived in the new environment and is not yet adapted to it. It is easy to be sunburned if exposed to light directly. It needs to be maintained in a shaded and ventilated place for a period of time before slowly exposing it to light.

4. Watering

For this kind of newly purchased plant, the amount of watering must be controlled. Usually, after watering once, do not water it again within the next three days. After it adapts to the new environment, resume normal watering.
