Can I add vinegar to water azalea? The azalea wilts after watering.

1. Is it okay to add vinegar?

Rhododendrons prefer an acidic environment, so it is completely fine to add vinegar when watering. Especially in the north, the soil is alkaline, and adding vinegar when watering can effectively improve the pH. However, generally only salt-free white vinegar is used, and just a few drops can be added to 1000 ml of water. The water after adding vinegar needs to be left to stand for a few days before use, otherwise it will cause the plants to wilt.

2. What to do if the flowers wilt

1. Soaking the pot: If the wilting is caused by improper use of vinegar, you need to dilute the potting soil in time. Find a large basin or bucket and place the flower pot on it 1 cm. The edge of the bucket must be higher than the flower pot. Add water to the bucket, making sure the water level is above the surface of the potting soil. After standing for a while, the vinegar inside will slowly dilute.

2. Change the soil: After soaking the pot, the soil will lose a lot of nutrients, and salt will accumulate. Wet soil is also more likely to breed bacteria, etc., so you must change the soil and replant immediately. Carefully remove the plant from the pot and remove some of the old soil. Then choose a flowerpot of suitable size, place tiles and coarse sand at the bottom of the pot, and then cover it with a layer of nutrient soil. After planting the plants, fill them with soil, compact them and water them thoroughly.

3. Maintenance: After changing the soil and replanting, place it in a cool place. The root system is relatively fragile at this time, so do not water or fertilize directly. You can use a watering can to keep it moist.
