Why do gardenias drop their buds?

Why do gardenias drop their buds?

1. The soil in the pot is too wet

It prefers a moist and humid growing environment, but not too much water will be applied, otherwise a large amount of water will accumulate in the potting soil, causing the soil to be too moist, which will cause the flower buds to fall off. In this case, you need to stop watering immediately, control the water replenishment, and then place it in a well-ventilated place. This will promote the evaporation of water and restore the dryness of the soil in the pot. Always pay attention to the moisture issue and try to choose breathable materials for the flower pots.

2. Strong sunlight

If the flower buds are exposed to strong sunlight during the growth process, they will be injured and fall off the plant. It can be immediately moved to a semi-shaded environment to allow the plant to recover, and given sunlight daily according to seasonal changes.

3. Environmental discomfort

If it is moved to a new environment when it is blooming, it will naturally find it difficult to adapt, and the flower buds may fall off. There is no need to worry about this situation. Just keep it there and take care of it normally. It will recover on its own after a period of time.

4. Excess fertilizer

It needs nutritional supplements during its growth process, but once too much fertilizer is applied, the roots will not be able to bear it, which is also one of the reasons.
