What to do if the leaves of the money tree turn black and fall off

What to do if the leaves of the money tree turn black and fall off

1. Keep warm

The cold resistance of the money tree is poor. If no warming measures are taken in advance in winter, it will be frostbitten in low temperatures, and its leaves will turn black and fall off. It should be moved to a warmer place, the blackened leaves should be cut off, and it should be allowed to grow slowly in an environment above 10℃.

2. Disease prevention and control

When the money tree gets brown spot disease, its leaves will begin to show signs of disease, and when the disease becomes serious in the later stages, they will fall off. Medication should be used as soon as possible. You can use carbendazim or Bordeaux mixture for treatment. After using it 2-3 times in a row, its leaves will recover.

3. Water and ventilation

The plant should not be too short of water during the growing period, but it should not be watered too much. Too much watering will cause the roots of the plant to lack oxygen and be unable to breathe, and its leaves will turn black and fall off. You should stop watering temporarily and place the money tree in a well-ventilated environment. After a period of time, it will grow normally.

4. Provide shade

Although it likes sunlight, it cannot be exposed to excessive sunlight, especially in the hot summer. Otherwise, the leaves will easily turn black and fall off. It should be placed in a shaded environment, and the ventilation of the breeding environment should be improved to prevent the plant from being sunburned again.
