How to water vegetables on the balcony

When to water

Water and fertilizer are the same. Too much is not good for plants. Generally, water after the surface of the soil is dry. Check regularly and water in time if you feel the humidity is not enough until water flows out from the bottom of the container.

Use a watering can to adjust the water flow

Be sure to water gently so that the water sprays down. Especially before the seeds germinate or when the seedlings are still small, the mouth of the watering can should be pointed upward to prevent excessive impact on the seeds and seedlings. After the plants have grown lush branches and leaves, the mouth of the watering can can be pointed downward to water directly to the bottom of the plants.

Watering time in different seasons

In summer, try to water the plants in the morning before the sun rises or in the evening. Watering at noon can easily cause the plants to rot, but you can water them at any time when the plants are extremely dry.

The water temperature is lower in the morning or evening in winter, which is not suitable for watering. You should choose the morning when the weather is better. In other seasons, it depends on the water shortage of the plants.

What if you forget to water?

In a busy life, you may forget about the vegetables on the balcony. The vegetables have not been watered for many days and the soil is very dry. It is difficult to soak the soil completely in a short time when watering. At this time, you can poke a few small holes in the soil and then water them, but be careful not to damage the roots of the plants.
