Method for germination of narcissus bulbs

Strip

When germinating daffodil bulbs, the first step is to peel them off, removing the outermost layer of skin on the daffodil bulbs.

Chip

The second step in germinating narcissus bulbs is to cut the bulbs. Cut downwards horizontally from one-third of the upper part of the narcissus bulbs on both sides, and then cut off two layers of scales. In addition, the buds on the narcissus bulbs should be cut vertically downward from the center of both sides.

When cutting the bulb, remove the old roots and soil on the bulb, and avoid touching the tender shoots of the bulb when cutting.

Dip Ball

After the narcissus bulbs are cut, they need to be soaked in clean water for 1-2 days. During the soaking, some glue will appear on the bulbs, which need to be rinsed clean.

Germination

The last step is to germinate the seeds. Place the soaked bulbs in a container, cover them with rice husks, and expose them to the sun. You can water it every day to maintain a certain temperature and humidity. New buds will grow after about a week and will be fully exposed to light. They will start to bloom after 50 days of maintenance. You can then take out the narcissus bulbs, wash them and then plant them.

Key points for cutting narcissus bulbs

When cutting the narcissus bulb, choose the correct cutting position and cut between the two side buds without damaging the buds. When cutting the ball, only cut about one centimeter, once in the front and once in the back. Then use your hands to gently pry open the cut to widen it.
