Hydroponic method of miniature coconut

1. Choose a healthy potted plant, wash the roots and grow them in water.

2. The root system is thin, new roots sprout slowly, and the old roots are brown. Use granular substrates such as expanded clay and medical stone to fix the plant and cover the unsightly root system. After the new roots sprout, cut off the old roots and use clean water for cultivation.

3. If the miniature coconut palm has lush branches and leaves, do not place too many branches in one pot for water cultivation. Instead, use a mini container to grow a single plant in water, or place three to five plants in one container for cultivation.

Maintenance method of hydroponic miniature coconut

The root system of the miniature coconut palm is slender and underdeveloped. New roots sprout slowly in a hydroponic environment, but the old roots are strong and not easy to rot. Generally, the root system is not pruned. After the roots are fully grown, 1/3 of the roots can be removed, and the withered and yellow leaves can be removed at the same time. After rinsing the substrate, replace it with a larger flowerpot.

Watering

In summer, the miniature coconut palm should be watered 2 or 3 times a day, and the amount of watering should be controlled in winter. Clean the fixing substrate every 6-8 weeks, especially in summer, to prevent harmful substances from harming the miniature coconut palm. The pH value of the nutrient solution of the miniature coconut palm needs to be tested frequently. Excessive alkalinity will cause the leaves of the miniature coconut palm to turn yellow. The miniature coconut palm has a strong ability to absorb water. When the water level drops, water will be added in time to the specified position.

illumination

The miniature coconut palm prefers a shady environment. It is not advisable to place the hydroponic miniature coconut palm near the south window. It should be placed on the north, east, or west windowsill, or a similar place. The leaves of the miniature coconut palm are dark green when grown in a darker place, and the leaves gradually turn yellow-green when exposed to direct sunlight. Too much strong light can cause burnt leaves and black spots. You can use 60% shading net to shade the leaves of the miniature coconut palm and keep it growing well.

temperature

The optimum growth temperature for the miniature coconut palm is between 20-30℃. It goes dormant at 13℃ and the temperature should not be lower than 10℃ in winter. In winter, the miniature coconut palm must be kept warm so that it can survive the winter safely.

Fertilization

During the growing season, apply hydroponic nutrient solution once every 2-3 weeks. For example, 901 soilless culture nutrient solution or Huabao needs to be diluted 1000 to 1500 times.
