How to hydroponically cultivate Cordyceps sinensis

How to hydroponically cultivate Cordyceps sinensis

Container selection

The stems of Cordyceps sinensis are upright, so the pot should be sturdy so that it does not appear top-heavy. The diameter of the pot should be about 1/5 of the plant height.

Hydroponics Method

Wash the soil off the roots of the plant, wrap the roots with a soft object such as a sponge, put them in a planting cup, and then put the planting cup into the holes of the anti-deciduous board of the pot, so that 2/3 of the roots are immersed in the nutrient solution.

Choice of nutrient solution

Use 1/3~1/2 concentration of Hoagland nutrient solution, pH 5.8. The depth of the nutrient solution is 2/3 of the pot. The nutrient solution needs to be replaced every 15 to 25 days, or the time for replacing the nutrient solution can be shortened or extended according to the actual growth conditions of the plant.

Summer maintenance

In summer, Cordyline needs to be properly shaded to prevent its leaves from turning yellow. It needs light in other seasons. In addition, you should often spray some water on the leaves of Cordyline. This can make the stems and leaves more luxuriant and the leaves more colorful. In order to ensure the brightness of the colored patterns on the leaves, the composition of the nutrient solution should be mainly phosphorus and potassium, with less nitrogen.
