Hydroponic methods and precautions for garlic

Hydroponic methods and precautions for garlic

Seed selection

First, we need to choose some good quality garlic and set aside. You can press the surface of the garlic. If there is a dent or it is too soft, it cannot be used. It is recommended to use round garlic without gaps, mainly because if there are gaps, it is not easy to stand upright, and toothpicks or other items are needed to fix it. And if there is a gap, adding too much water will cause the intended wound to rot.

Hydroponics

After selecting the garlic, you also need to choose a container, such as a plate, cup, bowl, etc., put the garlic in, and it is best to remove the stems of the garlic. Add an appropriate amount of water, as long as it covers the roots of the garlic. After about 7 days, the garlic will grow new shoots. If you check back after a few days, the garlic shoots will have grown long and straight.

Precautions

The suitable growth temperature for garlic is between 10 and 25 degrees. Ordinary tap water can be used, and there is no need to add nutrient solution. In order to avoid the garlic odor, it is best to change the water frequently. In terms of light, it is best to place the garlic in a place with strong sunlight, so that the leaves of the garlic will grow green and the taste will be more delicious. Generally, it can be harvested after one month of growth. When harvesting, just cut off the garlic leaves, which will not affect its continued growth. Shrunken and rotten garlic cloves should be dealt with promptly.
