If there is a pregnant woman at home, these plants cannot be raised

Six types of plants that pregnant women should not grow

1. Flowers with strong fragrance

Flowers like daffodils, roses, jasmine, lilies, tuberose, etc. have strong fragrances and pregnant women will feel uncomfortable if they smell them for a long time. They can cause pregnant women to have adverse symptoms such as irritability, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, and insomnia, which are also not good for the growth of the fetus.

2. Poisonous flowers

For example, if the skin touches the damaged stems and leaves of magnolia, it will cause strong irritation. Mimosa and tulip can cause hair loss; oleander is highly toxic and can cause poisoning if touched or accidentally eaten, and in severe cases can even cause miscarriage. Common poisonous flowers include poinsettia, yellow azalea, anthurium, red hibiscus, daffodil, and evergreen, which should not be grown.

3. Plants that promote cancer

There are as many as 52 kinds of flowers that can promote cancer, such as Begonia affine, Osmanthus fragrans, Croton, Olea europaea, etc., which can induce nasopharyngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, etc. If there are pregnant women at home, you should be cautious when choosing flowers.

4. Flowers that are prone to skin allergies

Jade lilac, five-color plum, hydrangea, geranium, bauhinia, primrose, etc. These flowers may cause allergic reactions in ordinary people, let alone pregnant women. Especially in winter, when air circulation is poor, the chance of pollen allergy increases.

5. Flowers that are too bright

Plants like poinsettia and pomegranate, if the flowers are too bright red, will make pregnant women feel excited, dazzled, tired, and may also cause insomnia. This type of flower should be placed away from pregnant women.

6. Flowers with strange smells

Flowers with strange smell or odor, such as Lantana, Photinia, and Ampelopsis ternata, can cause discomfort and nausea in pregnant women. But I think most families would not choose this type of flowers!

Three types of plants suitable for pregnant women

1. Flowers that can absorb harmful gases and dust particles

It is suitable for pregnant women to place some plants that can purify the air at home, such as spider plants, aloe vera, tiger tail plants, monstera, ivy, mirabilis, half-flowered lotus, kumquat, chrysanthemum, marigold, araceae, etc. This type of flower can remove carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, benzene, chlorine, fluorine and other gases that are toxic to the body. In particular, plants such as spider plants, tiger tail plants, and aloe vera can absorb about 80% of harmful gases in the room, especially formaldehyde, which is a very strong ability to absorb.

2. Flowers and plants that can inhibit bacterial growth

Violets, lemons, roses, carnations, lily of the valley, crape myrtles and other flowers and plants can inhibit the reproduction of diphtheria, tuberculosis, pneumococcus and staphylococcus. Planting them in the room can sterilize the air and prevent pregnant women from getting sick.

3. Flowers and plants that increase oxygen in the room

It is best for pregnant women to keep some cactus (ball) plants in the room, because the stomata on the fleshy stems of these plants are closed during the day and open at night, so they will release oxygen while absorbing carbon dioxide, which is more beneficial to human health. But don't touch the cactus casually to avoid getting pricked. Other plants of the same type include Phalaenopsis, Orchidaceae, and Dragon Bone.
