How to take care of newly bought Lithops

How to take care of newly bought Lithops

1. Inspection

After buying Lithops home, first give it a comprehensive inspection to see how it is growing. Check whether the plant body is damaged or has yellow leaves. The key point is the roots, check whether they are black or have white insect eggs. If any problems are found, they must be resolved in time to avoid affecting the normal growth of the plant in the later stage.

2. Change the soil

This depends on the current soil conditions. If the soil quality is good, do not change the soil; if the soil quality is poor, you should change the soil. It is best to use soil with strong permeability and fertile texture, but you have to wait until the potting period is over before changing the soil, otherwise it will easily damage the plant.

3. Lighting

You can give the newly purchased biochemical flowers a certain amount of scattered light, but you must also take appropriate shading measures. Do not expose it to light for too long, and do not expose it to direct sunlight. It is best to cultivate it in a semi-shaded environment.

4. Fertilization

You cannot fertilize Lithops right after you buy it home. Although it needs certain nutrients, fertilizing it at this time can easily damage the plant, and in severe cases even cause death. It is necessary to wait until the acclimatization period has passed before applying fertilizer.
