The language and legend of bird of paradise

The flower language of bird of paradise

Cheerful and happy.

When the bird of paradise flower blooms, clusters of string-like flower spikes will grow around the vines. The shape of the flower spikes is very similar to the plump bird of paradise. When the flowers are in full bloom, the various shapes and forms of the birds present a beautiful scene of "a hundred birds flocking to the branches". Every time I see this scene, my heartfelt joy and happiness overflow from the inside out. This mood is the language of the flower it conveys.

The legend of bird of paradise flower

Do you think the language of the bird of paradise flower is as simple as its image? Why is it only open around Qingming Festival? In fact, there is a very interesting legend about the origin of its flower language.

According to legend, Li Tieguai, one of the Eight Immortals of the Ming Dynasty, was strolling to Gongkeng Temple one morning. When passing by a farmland, he saw flocks of sparrows flying happily among the rice fields and stealing rice. Seeing this, the farmer picked up a broom and chased the sparrows from one end of the field to the other, but before the broom touched the ground, the sparrows landed again. The farmer was helpless and could only watch his six months harvest being ravaged by the sparrows, tears streaming down his face. Li Tieguai stood up for the farmer, so he found a vine and used the magic of the Eight Immortals to tie up the arrogant sparrows to the vine. He then hung the vines on the tree in bunches, preventing them from flying out only around the Qingming Festival, when there was a shortage of food. From then on, there were no more annoying sparrows that stole rice, but there were more lovable bird of paradise flowers.
