There is a lotus pod inside the flower, and inside the lotus pod are seeds.

The lotus itself has extremely high ornamental value, and many parts of it are edible. Its rhizome is lotus root, which can be used in cooking. The seeds are lotus seeds, which can be used to make porridge, and can also be eaten raw. Lotus leaves can be used to make tea and also for cooking.
