How to grow corn stone

How to grow corn stone

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: The cold resistance of corn stone is relatively optimistic, but it is best to spend the winter indoors, so that the possibility of frostbite will be greatly reduced. It can grow normally in an environment of about minus five degrees, but not below minus five degrees. Usually, it grows fastest at around twenty degrees.

2. Watering: The water replenishment of corn stone needs to be strictly controlled. It only needs to be kept slightly moist during the growth period. Too much moisture will affect its growth. Apply water appropriately in spring and autumn, and stop in winter, or add a small amount of water. If you water too much, the plant will grow very loose, and sometimes the leaves will fall off.

3. Light: Corn stone likes warm sunlight and cannot accept strong light in summer, so it needs shade in summer. It can accept mild sunlight normally in other seasons. With sufficient light, the color of the plant's branches and leaves will become more beautiful and appear purple-red. If there is not enough light, the color of the branches and leaves will only be green and not very perfect.

4. Fertilization: Corn stone is not demanding on fertilizer. If the plant lacks nutrition during the growth period, you can supplement it with some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Be careful not to apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will grow too tall. Of course, if conditions permit, you can also apply some special fertilizers for succulents, so that it can be better absorbed.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Division and cuttings are two important methods of reproduction. For cuttings, you can directly choose some branches and leaves for cuttings, the survival rate will be relatively high, and some strong branches and leaves that have been pruned can be used for cuttings. Do not water too much after cuttings, it is more drought-resistant. Division can be done when repotting, by dividing the roots of the plant into several parts and replanting them.

2. Pruning: Corn stone does not need to be pruned frequently because its plant shape is very short, but it is easy to grow too tall during the cultivation period, so pruning can be used to control the plant shape.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Root rot will occur if the plant is over-watered and not ventilated enough, so after improving the environment, you can also use wettable powder to control it.

2. Pests: Nematodes are one of the main pests, which are also caused by excessive watering. They can be eliminated by repotting.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and can be raised with confidence.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, and raising succulents can also make you happy.
