1. TemperatureThe root system of the bulb grows best at a low temperature of 2 to 6°C, the suitable temperature for bud germination is 5 to 10°C, the suitable temperature for leaf growth is 10 to 12°C, and 15 to 18°C is most favorable for budding and flowering. The storage temperature of bulbs is 20-28℃, the optimum is 25℃, which is ideal for flower bud differentiation. 2. LightingDuring the cultivation of hyacinth, it is recommended to give an appropriate amount of light time every day. If the light is too weak, it will cause the plant to be weak, the flower buds to be small, the leaves to turn yellow, etc. However, the light intensity should not be too high. If the light is too strong, the flowering period of hyacinth will be too short. 3. SoilHyacinth should choose well-drained, not too dry sandy loam. The soil should be fertile, high in organic matter, good in aggregate structure, neutral to slightly alkaline, and have a pH of 6-7. The potting medium can be made by mixing equal amounts of humus-rich leaf mold, garden soil, and coarse sand, with a small amount of bone meal added. 4. WaterThe principle of watering is to water when the soil is dry. Be careful not to add too much water, and don't let the soil in the pot become too dry. In the northern regions, generally, you don’t need to water the plants within half a month after planting; in the southern regions, you don’t need to water the plants for a month. Sometimes, even though the surface of the soil is dry, the bottom is wet, so watering it again would be redundant. To maintain the humidity in the greenhouse, watering is done in the morning. 5. Notes1. Things to note during summer ① In the later stage of cultivation, fertilizer and water should be used sparingly to prevent the bulbs from "cracking" and rotting during the rainy season. ② The bulbs cannot be left in the soil over the summer and must be dug up and stored every year. The bulbs must be fully dried in the shade, otherwise they will not be resistant to storage. 2. Storage precautions ① Harvest the bulbs in time. If you harvest them too early, they will not grow fully. If you harvest them too late, it will often be the rainy season and the soil will be too wet. ②The storage environment must be kept dry and cool, and the bulbs should be spread out in layers to facilitate ventilation. 3. Other matters needing attention Hyacinth can only grow in a low temperature environment, so hyacinth should be allowed to grow in a natural environment and then moved indoors after the temperature drops below 0 degrees. |
