Common species of Crinum

1. Asian Crinum:

The Asian Crinum orchid has perennial, thick, long, cylindrical bulbs. The whole plant has less than 30 flowers, which are arranged in multiple rows and are lanceolate. They can be up to 1 meter long and about 7-12 centimeters wide. They gradually taper from low to high, with a pointed head and dark green edges. The flower stem is upright, almost as long as the leaves, with about 10-24 flowers; the pedicel is about 0.5-2.5 cm long. The fruit is spherical, about 4 cm in diameter, with one seed, and blooms in summer.

2. Cute Crinum:

It is different from the spherical bulb of the Asian Crinum, and its leaves are not wavy. The plant height is about 60 cm or less and is distributed in tropical Asia. Its flowers are slightly more uniform than those of the Asian Crinum, and the flowers mostly bloom together. Generally, the flowers will droop before blooming.

3. Red Flower Crinum:

Its plant shape is not much different from that of the Asian Crinum, and the shape of its flowers is as irregular as that of the Crinum, with a touch of bright red from the Ceylon Striped Crinum on the flowers.

In addition to the above three species, there are more than 100 species in the same genus as Crinum, including: Sumatran waxy Crinum, with bright red flowers; North American Crinum, with narrow strap-shaped leaves, serrated edges, and white flowers; South African Crinum, with leaves attached to white frost and deep red outer edges; South African Mussachusetts Crinum, with pink flowers. This type of variety has different colors and is highly recognizable.
