How to grow Mimosa pudica

Water frequently

Mimosa is a moisture-loving flower plant that lives in the tropics, so the moisture of the potting soil should always be maintained to keep it moist and not too dry; in the hot summer, pay attention to the actual situation when watering, watering about once a day is sufficient, do not let the potting soil dry out, spray water on the plant from time to time to prevent the plant from losing water too quickly and drying up; in winter, reduce the amount of watering and try to water as little as possible, otherwise frost damage is likely to occur.

Soil selection

Mimosa does not have high requirements for soil and only needs ordinary garden soil to be planted. If conditions permit, it is best to choose some loose and fertile humus mixed soil. Of course, only leaf mold or sandy soil is also acceptable.

Adequate lighting

Mimosa is a light-loving plant, so it is best placed on a sunny windowsill or balcony. Sunlight is beneficial to the growth of mimosa. On the contrary, if there is too little light, it will stop growing, turn yellow and wither.

Preventing frost damage

Mimosa pudica is a tropical plant, so the temperature for its growth cannot be too low. The room temperature is most suitable at 20-28℃. Too low temperature will cause the mimosa to stop growing. If you water it too much at this time, the roots and stems of the mimosa will be frozen. When the temperature is below 10℃, certain protective measures are needed.

Pest control

Mimosa rarely suffers from diseases and pests. The most common one is slug. If such pests appear, lime powder should be sprinkled in time for prevention and control.
