Precautions for breeding miniature coconuts

Precautions for breeding miniature coconuts

illumination

Strong light can cause the edges of leaves to burn. The miniature coconut palm prefers a shaded growing environment, so when grown indoors it should be placed in a place with bright diffuse light.

The miniature coconut palm is afraid of strong light, so it should be placed indoors in the high temperature of summer and should not be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will wither and turn yellow; on the contrary, if it is placed in a difficult environment for a long time, the leaf color will fade and lose its due luster.

temperature

Generally, the most suitable growth temperature for miniature coconut palm is around 10-20℃. The temperature in winter should be reduced to 12-14℃, and the minimum temperature should not be lower than 10℃. If the temperature is too low, it will stop growing and enter dormancy. If the temperature is even lower, the plant will be frozen and die.

humidity

The growth of miniature coconuts requires maintaining appropriate growth humidity. Water should be sprayed around the leaves frequently to increase the air humidity and prevent it from being too dry, which will cause poor growth of the coconuts.

Potting soil and fertilization

Miniature coconut palms should be grown in weakly alkaline soil with a small amount of clay. The plant should be repotted once every three years and thin liquid fertilizer should be applied 3-4 times in spring and autumn when the plant is in its seedling stage.
