Flowering and Management of Lilium

Flowering period of lily

The flowering period of the lily of the valley is very long, and due to the different climatic and environmental conditions in different regions, the flowering period is also different. Generally, the flowers can last for 4 to 5 months.

The reproduction time of lily of the valley is not so fixed, it can be carried out in stages. If the maintenance conditions meet the growth needs of lily of the valley, it can basically have flowers in all seasons.

Flowering period control of lily

For the lily of the valley propagated by seeds, it is transplanted and planted after the true leaves grow. It basically takes about two and a half months from sowing to flowering. The lily is relatively heat-resistant and can bloom as long as the temperature remains within a suitable range. Therefore, in order to be able to enjoy the flowers of the lily of the valley in different time periods or if you want to enjoy more flowers of the lily of the valley throughout the year, you need to plant the lily of the valley in stages.

If you plant lilies in February, they will generally bloom around May Day after a period of growth. If you plant lilies in July, they will bloom around National Day. If you sow lilies in October, you need to take good insulation measures and provide timely artificial lighting. It is also necessary to do a good job in water and fertilizer management and pinching.

Flowering period management of small lilies

Adequate light and suitable temperature are conducive to the differentiation of flower buds of lilies, making them bloom more and more beautifully. If there is insufficient light, the flowering rate will decrease and the growth will be poor. During the growth period of the lily of the valley, it is necessary to control the plant height by pinching, and flowering can also be controlled by pinching. Starting to pinch off the base of the lily plant can form more branches and make it bloom more.

In addition, during the flowering period of the lily, more watering is needed in summer and less watering is needed in spring and autumn.
